4 Days Adventure and Akha Trek

We recommend this trek for sporty and adventurous people as the second days is quite challenging and long walking. On the trek, you will see mountainous, wonderful views and landscape, you will pass many rice field on the mountain and fogy in the winter time. This trek focus on ethnic diversity rather than jungle. The people in the village get use to take people because this trek open for about thirteen years.

Day 1: Bountai-Epurjing and Churya.

Departing from your hotel or guesthouse with a private car or van, your guide will pick you up. On the way, you will pass many Akha villages such as: Akha Cherpia, Poulee, Eurpa and Mouchi. The guide will take you to visit the villages. We will have a lunch before start trekking, then you will walk pass through local cultivated areas. You will see mountains and beautiful landscapes during the trip. It will take about 2 hours walking to the Akha Mouchee village, this village the children and people are quiet shy; when you take a photo of them, please ask first. Today you will stay overnight in the village. Your guide will take you to explore their customs and livelihood. After dinner, the women will give a welcoming message.

Da 2: Churya and Achonampock.

After early breakfast, the team will do sightseeing around the village. Then, you will start walking up and down to Ban turka Mouchee tribe. On the way, you will pass many rice fields on the mountain and green tea gardens. It will take about 4 hours to Ban Turka. There are two villages, Akha Cherpia and Mouchee, your guide will take you visit around village. Then you can stop for lunch in the village. After you will head to Japheawluang. On the way, you will pass many of the rice fields that the Akha people made; you will see mountains and beautiful landscapes. It will take about Four or Five hours to arrive the village. Today you will stay overnight in this village called Akha Eurpa, the guide will take you discover this village, there are three Akha Eurpa villages in this area. We will have dinner with the host family, and the lady will have a welcoming massage before going to bed.

Day3: Japhiewluang-Mokkokluang and Mokkoknoy.

After breakfast, you will start walking up and down to the mountain. On the way, you will pass many rice field, sugar can field and the springs, then you will go ahead to Mokkokluang Akha Loma. It will take about a few hours to reach to the village, you will have lunch in this village. The guide will take you to explore the villages and learn about their cultures. After sightseeing village, you will continue walking to Ban Mokkoknoy, the Loma tribe. It will take about one and haft hours to reach to the village. During the trek, you will pass many sugarcane fields and the rice fields.

Today, you will stay overnight in Akha village “Loma Tribe”. The village they moved for seven years ago, the guide will take you visit around the village, you will enjoy dinner and a message from Akha women.

Day4: Mokkoknoy and Namly.

After breakfast, you start walking up and down the new street head to Ban Namly where you will finish trekking. On the way, you will pass and see mountains, sugarcane fields, rice fields, etc. It will take about three hours to reach to Ban Namly. Your guide will take you stop for lunch and wait for the driver to pick you up to the town.

What to prepare on the trek:

  • Good hydration is a basic safety measure; make sure that you consume at least 2-3 liters of water per day. For your first day, the tour operator will provide around 2 water bottles. Please, keep always the empty bottle so you can refill the next day.
  • A good pair of shoes for walking
  • A hat or cap
  • Sunglasses
  • Mosquito repellent/Insect repellent
  • Sunscreen
  • Toilet paper
  • Raincoat (in Rainy season, June-Sep)
  • Pocket money, etc.
  • Wear long pants and a T-shirt.
  • personal first aids

What to Do’s & Don’ts:

  • Do not give individual gifts or money to children.
  • Ask before taking photos of people or spiritual items.
  • Help keep the trails clean by not littering.
  • Purchasing handicrafts is highly appreciated but do not purchase antiques.
  • Do not remove any archeological remains from the site of the ancient temples.
  • Always stay with the guides
  • Do not use drugs.
