3 Day Camping on 1600 Mount

Itinerary and camping:

The district of Bountai is a high mountain area with cool weather all year round, as well as beautiful scenery and a variety of ethnic cultures that are still well preserved. There are also many places suitable for camping, and one of them is Mountain 1800, which has a special feature that can see the scenery 360 degrees and is suitable for adventure travel by car or motorcycle.

Bountai Terka and Sangyingpao

Day1.

Meet your guide at Bountai Tourists Information Center, then we take a private car from Bountai to Sangyingpao. Along the way you will pass many of the Akha villages, Hor and Phounoi villages, it will take about two hours to the place where camping. Today we stay overnight by camping, enjoy the beautiful landscape, and touch the fresh air with the wonderful fog along the mountains.

Day2.

Departing from the camping site around 8:00 am, and go head to Cherya Village. During the trip you will walk through the rice field, tea garden, and mountains. Today the trek starts at Terkha village, you will take about two hours to Cherya village, stay overnight in the Mouchee villages. The tour guide will bring you to walk around the village to see local people lives in the remote areas. You will have time to discover the Akha culture and traditions in their daily lives, and after finishing dinner, the Akha women will give a welcoming message.

Day3.

After breakfast, you will head back to Bountai district. On the way, you will pass rice fields; it will take about two hours to reach Epirjing Village. After that, we continue hiking to the point where we will meet our driver. Then drive back to Bountai.

What to prepare on the trek:

  • Good hydration is a basic safety measure; make sure that you consume at least 2-3 liters of water per day. For your first day, the tour operator will provide around 2 water bottles. Please, keep always the empty bottle so you can refill the next day.
  • A good pair of shoes for walking
  • A hat or cap
  • Sunglasses
  • Mosquito repellent/Insect repellent
  • Sunscreen
  • Toilet paper
  • Raincoat (in Rainy season, June-Sep)
  • Pocket money, etc.
  • Wear long pants and a T-shirt.

What to Do’s & Don’ts:

  • Do not give individual gifts or money to children.
  • Ask before taking photos of people or spiritual items.
  • Help keep the trails clean by not littering.
  • Purchasing handicrafts is highly appreciated but do not purchase antiques.
  • Do not remove any archeological remains from the site of the ancient temples.
  • Always stay with the guides
  • Do not use drugs.
