Visit tribal villages of Akha cherpia, Akha Moutern,Tai Yang, and explore amazing of Nam Lan Protected Area.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Bountai – Huay Khong – jungle – Ban Chakhamsao
Meet your guide at Boun Tai Tourists Office, then we take our private car from Bountai to the point where our trek starts. Start hiking to Ban Huay Khong (Akha tribe). Explore this village. Then, we will trek uphill to the higher mountains of the Nam Lan area. Trek through deep forests and downhill to another Akha village. Late evening we arrive at Ban Chakhamsao, village of Akha Cherpia. Dinner, and stay overnight at this village.
Trekking: 5 hours. Trekking level: difficult.
Day 2: Ban Chakhasao – jungle trek – Ban Akha Moutern
In the early morning, the guide will bring you to sightseeing the Akha life in the morning activities. After breakfast, the team will prepare our belongings for trekking. We hike downhill on the dirt road and reach Nam Lan Protected Area. Trekking starts from Nam Lan, this will take us 5–6 hours to journey through the very deep jungles of Nan Lan, experience amazing untouched jungle. Trek along the small river, then we reach Ban Moutern, village of Akha Moutern. When we reach village, we will relax, have dinner , and overnight at this village.
Trekking: 5 – 6 hours. Trekking level: difficult.
Day 3: Akha Moutern village – jungle trek – Ban Naten – Bountai.
After breakfast, we say goodbye to the host family. Today is still a challenging day. We trek through untouched forest, uphill to higher mountains. It is hard trekking indeed. We need sporty trekkers to do this trek. After we reach the top of the mountain, we will trek downhill along a steep path. Finally, we finish our trek, where we meet our driver.
We drive to Ban Naten. Have lunch at the village. Drive to Bountai. Arrive in Bountai in the late afternoon. Finish our tour in Bountai.
Trekking: 6 – 6,5 hours, trekking level: very difficult.

What to prepare on the trek:
- Good hydration is a basic safety measure; make sure that you consume at least 2-3 liters of water per day. For your first day, the tour operator will provide around 2 water bottles. Please, keep always the empty bottle so you can refill the next day.
- A good pair of shoes for walking
- A hat or cap
- Sunglasses
- Mosquito repellent/Insect repellent
- Sunscreen
- Toilet paper
- Raincoat (in Rainy season, June-Sep)
- Pocket money, etc.
- Wear long pants and a T-shirt.

What to Do’s & Don’ts:
- Do not give individual gifts or money to children.
- Ask before taking photos of people or spiritual items.
- Help keep the trails clean by not littering.
- Purchasing handicrafts is highly appreciated but do not purchase antiques.
- Do not remove any archeological remains from the site of the ancient temples.
- Always stay with the guides
- Do not use drugs.
