1 Day Trek Nam Lan NPA

Itinerary: Bountai – Ban Naten – Nam Lan jungle trek – Ban Sapa( Akha village) – back to Bountai(_/L/_)

  • Meet your local guide at Boun Tai Tourists Office

Take a private drive to Ban Naten, Ban Boten is located very close to Nam Lan conservation Area. Nam Lan Area is the largest and deepest forests. Untouched jungles, there are many kind of wild animals living in the area. Well preserved by local people living nearby. We arrive at Ban Naten, we meet our local guide who lives at this village, he will take us to trek through deep forests of Nam Lan. We have wonderful time in the deep of jungle. Enjoy listening to many kinds of birds singing, learn to know how the wild animals live in the forest. Trek to explore wildlife pond (salty place where the kinds of animals come and drink water from this place).    Enjoy our picnic lunch. After that we continue our trek to other side of Nam Lan Area.

Trek to the road where we will meet our driver, then drive to visit an Akha village nearby the forests. Late afternoon we drive back to Bountai.

  • Trek start: at 8:00 am from Boun Tai Tourists Office
  • Trek end: at 5:00 pm in Bountai.

What to prepare on the trek:

  • Good hydration is a basic safety measure; make sure that you consume at least 2-3 liters of water per day. For your first day, the tour operator will provide around 2 water bottles. Please, keep always the empty bottle so you can refill the next day.
  • A good pair of shoes for walking
  • A hat or cap
  • Sunglasses
  • Mosquito repellent/Insect repellent
  • Sunscreen
  • Toilet paper
  • Raincoat (in Rainy season, June-Sep)
  • Pocket money, etc.
  • Wear long pants and a T-shirt.

  • Your own medicine if you need it.
  • Sandals or flip-flops

What to Do’s & Don’ts:

  • Do not give individual gifts or money to children.
  • Ask before taking photos of people or spiritual items.
  • Help keep the trails clean by not littering.
  • Purchasing handicrafts is highly appreciated but do not purchase antiques.
  • Do not remove any archeological remains from the site of the ancient temples.
  • Always stay with the guides
  • Do not use drugs.
